Mahendra Singh Dhoni becomes first captain to win 30 Twenty20 International matches

The 34-year-old has led India 56 times in the shortest format of the games, winning 30 games, with a success rate of 55.45%. Besides the 24 defeats, there were a No Result and a Tie too.
Dhoni also holds the record for most matches as captain.
Ireland captain William Porterfield has 43 matches with 23 wins in the second place, ahead of West Indian Darren Sammy, with 41 matches and 22 wins.
Yesterday, India won the second match of the three-match series at Dhoni's home-ground Ranchi by 69 runs thanks to an all-round show from both the batsmen and bowlers.
Shikhar Dhawan made a career-best 51 off 25 deliveries, and after a solid foundation with fellow opener Rohit Sharma, who made 43 off 36, India posted 196 runs.
In defence, Indian bowlers dismissed the Lankans for 127 with Ravinchandran Ashwin taking three wickets, while conceding only 14 runs from his four overs spell.
Ashish Nehra, Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah also got two wickets each.
Third and final match will be played tomorrow at Visakhapatnam.

India vs Sri Lanka 2016, 3rd T20I: Squads, date, time, TV listing

After a shock defeat in Pune, MS Dhoni's side hit back to win in Rajkot.
The Men in Blue will be disappointed to not have sealed the deal already considering they were favorites to sweep the series.
However with the series tied at 1-1, the Vizag crowd and neutrals will be delighted that this match isn't a dead rubber.
Dhoni has deployed the same playing eleven in the first two matches. Hence there is a doubt whether he would hand out a debut to all-rounder Pawan Negi.
The player to watch out for India will be Yuvraj Singh, considering the fact he is in need to spend some time out in the middle ahead of the all-important ICC WorldT20.

India vs Sri Lanka: Idea is to pick wickets in first six overs, says Ashish Nehra

India beat Sri Lanka by 67 runs in the second Twenty20 match held in Ranchi to level the series at 1-1.
Nehra who had impressive figures of 3-0-26-2, bowled his overs in the first powerplay and got India to a perfect start.
Nehra stated after the match that the batsmen will come hard at a bowler in a big chase but the idea is to pick wickets even if it means extra runs.
“Everyone knows in the first six overs, the batsmen will come hard at you especially in a big chase. I may go for a few extra runs, but the idea is to pick wickets,” said Nehra.
The senior bowler who made a return to the side after a long time stated that he waited for the opportunity and that bowling with pace isn't a problem despite his age.
“I was waiting for this opportunity for the last few seasons. Till the body holds up, I'm ready to play. Bowling 140 plus hasn't been a problem for me, really.”
With regards to India's fielding that has been so brilliant to watch, nehra stated that this group is the best bunch of fielders.
“I've been around for a long time, I've seen plenty of good fielders. But to see them all in one group is great fun.”

Inexperienced Sri Lanka beat listless India by 5 wkts in 1st T20I

Put into bat on a lively track, which had fair amount of bounce and seam movement, India were skittled out for a paltry 101 in 18.5 overs with rookie pace trio of Kasun Rajitha (3/29), Dashun Shanaka (3/16) and Dushmantha Chameera (2/14) doing bulk of the damage.

Sri Lanka reached the target with two overs to spare. Senior players Dinesh Chandimal (35) and Chamara Kapugedara (25) made useful contributions.
It turned out to be a blow for Mahendra Singh Dhoni after the team won 3-0 in the series Down Under to achieve the top rank in ICC table for shortest format.
If Rajitha blew away the top-order, it was Shanaka and Chameera, who decimated the middle and lower-order with only Ravichandran Ashwin with his unbeaten 31 helping home team cross the three-figure.
Such was the abject surrender by the Indian batsmen in the wake of extra bounce and moving deliveries that only Yuvraj Singh (10) and Suresh Raina (20) reached the double figures apart from Ashwin.
When Sri Lanka batted, they lost a few wickets in between but the target was too small to defend as the 39-run stand between skipper Chandimal and Kapugedara turned out to be a clincher. Milinda Siriwardana struck 21 off 14 balls as he finished the match with a flourish hitting Jasprit Bumrah for a six and a boundary.
There was no dearth of effort from the Indian bowlers with Ashish Nehra (2/21 in 3 overs) and Ashwin (2/13 in 3 overs) got a couple of wickets each but it was the failure of the batsmen that hurt India the most.
Earlier it turned out to be a 'Kasun-Dasun' show as Rajitha and Chanaka made full use of a green top bowling out a fancied Indian batting line-up in 18.5 overs.
22-year-old debutant Rajitha rocked India on the back foot with a triple strike in his sensational opening spell before another youngster Shanaka, who had played just one T20I before today, grabbed three wickets and Dushmantha Chameera, who has played four Tests, left the hosts in tatters at 58 for 7.
Only a late rearguard action by Ravichandran Ashwin, who top-scored with an unbeaten 31 off 24 balls, inclusive of 5 fours by playing authentic cricket shots on a track that sported some grass, saved the team from being bowled out for their lowest ever total.
Shanaka secured his third wicket by trapping Hardik Pandya, playing across, leg before as India slumped to 58 for 7 after 11 overs and were in danger of beating their own record-low of 74 against Australia when Ravindra Jadeja was trapped leg before by off spinner Sachithra Senanayake.
But Ashwin saved them the ignominy by playing orthodox cricket shots with flicks, glances and cuts for fours as he ended up being the highest scorer of the innings.
His 9th wicket stand of 28 with Ashish Nehra (6) was also the best of the innings, overtaking the 27 put up for the third wicket by Dhawan (9) and Raina.
